Tamebay readers are fantastically innovative and resourceful and I’m always in awe of those who are growing and scaling a business. Over the years many of you have grown your businesses from kitchen table enterprises to amazing international businesses selling all over the globe and we’d like to hear about your success so are running a survey to discover how Tamebay readers grow and prosper.
We’re interested to find out when a business decides to start to sell overseas and how you chose to launch your International sales. Did you start your business and offer products internationally from day one, or did you successfully establish your business as a domestic seller before taking the plunge with cross border ecommerce?
It would also be interesting to know what the key driver to selling internationally was for you, was the home market saturated or do you for instance make better margins selling in other territories. We’re keen to understand what challenges you faced as well and how you overcame them.
Ultimately we aim to build a picture of how the average marketplace merchant builds their business and at what stage expanding overseas becomes a natural step. Do sellers start to explore overseas selling in the early days of a business, do they wait until they’re scaling or is it when they become £million turnover companies that they turn their sights to international selling?
To find out more we’re running a Tamebay Industry Research Survey and would love you to be a part of it. Naturally, later this year we’ll be reporting back on the anonymised results and you’ll be able to compare your business with the shape of the average Tamebay reader. We also hope to share some insights as to what steps sellers who are rapidly scaling their businesses should take and what steps to leave until your turnover is in the multi- £millions range.
The research is in partnership with WorldFirst and as a thank you for taking part, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a draw to win £200 worth of Amazon vouchers. It doesn’t matter what stage your business is at, we’d love to hear from you and thank you in advance for taking part.
You can start the survey here. There are only a dozen questions so it should only take a few minutes of your time.
