ArrowXL, a two-person delivery company, has donated 12 brand new mattresses to the Highway House homeless shelter in Tottenham, London. A team of five employees from the company’s Enfield hub took time out of their busy schedules to deliver the mattresses to Highway House, with some even using their day off to help.
Highway House provides shelter for up to fifty homeless men at any one time. The facility opened its doors in order to provide homeless men with employment training, counselling, shower facilities, food and a safe place to sleep. The centre is run by Pastor Alex Gyasi, with former resident Sammy now acting as a caretaker.
The donation was organised by Joe Cotter, the General Manager of ArrowXL’s hub in Enfield. As well as delivering the new mattresses, Joe’s team also supported the shelter by disposing of those older mattresses being replaced.
“We currently have 35 people staying at the shelter. These new mattresses will make a big difference by providing our visitors with some comfort in often extremely difficult circumstances. We are extremely grateful to ArrowXL for their generous donation.”
