  1. Am sure the normal RMG farce and mess will happen. The Black Friday fake sales event has killed October and November now totally, and everything is squashed into like 19 days when it finishes. We just went through the roof when the fake sales end, but it is over such a short window.
Then a bit of bad weather and suddenly RMG will collapse and 24 hour mail will take a week etc.

  2. Looking forward to it, got busy from Friday 24th last year right through till switched off on the 19th December.

Probably send everything 1st class on Thursday 20th and close up till the 10th Jan 2019

Sent out nearly 4,000 parcels with RM last year and was very happy with the service.

  3. I dont have any problems with RM delivering my mail and parcels at Christmas. They always arrive in tact and on time. Long may it continue.

  4. If you post that much every day and other companies do it better ..why don’t you use them I wonder ??? The price maybe..you moan about it but still use it. Weird

  5. You might be right about that but try and get those companies to deliver to the highlands and islands or deep rural northumberland or even the oil rigs ,they will take your money and lay the packages off with royal mail whom have no choice but to take them because of the universal service obligation in other words they cherry pick where its profitable and dump the rest on royal mail ,royal mail should refuse to take those items ,anyhow i have sold 821 items on ebay and have always used royal mail and i have 100% positive feedback so thats not bad now is it

  6. @SAM…..that “bit of bad weather” you mention was bad enough to trap me on the a74 for 6 hours……there are parts of the country north of Watford you know.

  7. This Christmas will really sort things out, with the shortage of HGV Drivers, with so many Eastern European Drivers now gone home or to other countries the Royal Mail and all the other companies who deliver mail and parcels will be in trouble trying to find extra HGV Drivers. This also applies to all the supermarkets and stores who employ extra drivers just for the Christmas period. The drivers CPC is also a major problem as the older and semi retired drivers are not interested in sitting in a classroom for 35 Hours to listen to boring lectures and most having to pay over £300 to get this ridiculous plastic card which no body ever asks to see. Most of these drivers who used to just cover at Christmas will have given up their licence because of this CPC qualification they need to drive. Another thing to blame the EU for.
