Join us for the Tamebay Brunch Round Table Discussion

Start Date:

End Date:

One of the things Tamebay readers have told us is that they’d like to meet face to face with Tamebay Editors and colleagues to discuss the issues surrounding marketplace businesses. Today we’re thrilled to announce our first Tamebay Brunch Round Table Discussion – International expansion in the face of Brexit – which will take place on the 7th of March in Reading, Berkshire, in partnership with GFS.

Having already partnered with GFS last year with a survey the results of which were presented in a webinar, there is an obvious appetite for expanding overseas but retailers are facing key constraints which have only been highlighted by the recent ramping up of uncertainty over Brexit.

Whilst we still don’t know whether to expect a hard Brexit, a deal, or perhaps a delayed Brexit, preparing for a hard Brexit as part of a wider plan for international growth makes sense, not least of which because regardless of our future trading relationship with the EU, it will involve the same steps as trading anywhere in the world outside of the EU. Even if a deal with the EU is reached, it will include a transition period and merchants need to prepare for when this ends. With this in mind, the topic for the 1st Tamebay Brunch will be International expansion in the face of Brexit and a sharing of best practices between the attendees.

We’d love to invite everyone, but in reality this will be a relatively small event so currently if you’re available in the morning of the 7th of March and able to get to Reading we’re asking for expressions of interest in receiving an invitation. Attendees will most likely have a turnover in excess of a £1 million and already successfully trading overseas, not just to Europe but the rest of the world.

The discussion will be held under the Chatham House rule, which means that while the subject of the discussions may be reported, comments made at the Brunch will kept anonymous. The aim is to openly discuss the issues and share your views in private although the topic and nature of the debate can contribute to a broader conversation.

If you would like to join us for the Tamebay Brunch on the morning of Thursday the 7th of March, then please complete the pre-registation form to express your interest in receiving an invitation.
