Russia’s Joom marketplace is targeting France to consolidate its market share in Europe and has signed a partnership with Lengow to enable merchants to manage their sales on the marketplace.

About Joom Marketplace

Created in 2016, the Russian marketplace, which offers more than 10 million products for sale at ultra-competitive prices, is heavily investing in Europe with the ambition to become one of the top 3 marketplaces in the region.

Present in Europe since summer 2017, Joom’s mobile platform and website provide a shopping experience adapted to European standards in terms of usability and translation, but also in terms of customer service and technical support. The platform also boasts an enriched shopping experience: mobile, social network components and influencers, gamification and personalization.

Joom marketplace and France

The next target is to expand the range of products on the marketplace, the Joom marketplace already has European brands on its platform and offers an assortment of 30,000 products from France.

The reason that Joom has chosen France as the key entry point for its strategy is mainly because the country is already it’s top European country for sales in Europe, with 40,000 new users signing up for the Joom mobile app every day. French buyers are among the most active in European marketplaces.

While Joom is actively targeting France to gain a foothold in Europe, that shouldn’t deter UK merchants from considering the marketplace. If you already sell on other French marketplaces then Joom should be a natural consideration, especially as it can expose your products further afield.

At the beginning of 2019, Europe represented over 50% of Joom’s sales compared with 45% for the Russian market.

Selling on Joom marketplace via Lengow

Since 2009, Lengow has enabled online merchants to distribute their products on Europe’s largest marketplaces. Expanding its offer and respond to market trends, Lengow is now giving merchants the opportunity to grow their business with Joom, starting from the second quarter of 2019.

Through this new collaboration between Joom and Lengow, online merchants and distributors can grow their presence in the European market and beyond; Joom currently has over 200 million consumers on its mobile app.

Always committed to offering new opportunities to its customers, Lengow operates many partnerships with leading players in ecommerce.

Joom joins the network of marketplaces partnered with Lengow, gaining access to a unique pool of brands and distributors in Europe.

“Through our collaboration with Lengow, the access to our platform is significantly facilitated for local merchants. I strongly believe that joint technical and marketing expertise will multiply the mcommerce growth effect in France and Europe in the nearest future.”

The European partnerships recently established by Lengow demonstrate its ability to help international platforms such as Joom to enter Europe, to gain visibility with European brands and distributors.
