Amazon have expanded their presence in France by installing 1,000 French Amazon Lockers into French supermarkets owned by retail giant Casino Groupe.
Casino Groupe have announced last week that they’re strengthening their partnership with Amazon “to create more convenience and services for customers in France” as part of the extended partnership with the marketplace.
The team up will see 1,000 French Amazon Lockers in physical stores including Monoprix, Monop’, Géant, Hyper Casino, Casino Supermarché, Leader Price, Casino shop, Vival and Spar in France. Shoppers will get a chance to pick up their online Amazon orders in the lockers. They will also get to shop Casino products such as wine and organic food on Amazon.
“With this new partnership, we will be able to offer the greatest number of customers the best products and services whenever and wherever they wish. This announcement represents a new step in strengthening Casino’s omnichannel strategy to always be a little more in the heart of consumers’ lives.”
– Jean-Charles Naouri, chief executive officer, Casino Group
In 2020, Casino’s supermarket chain Monoprix will play a role in helping Amazon roll out Prime Now to cities outside of Paris.
