With a glorious Easter holiday where the sun shone over much of the country we’re crossing our fingers that the weather will be just as good for the Ecommerce Cup 2019 which takes place this year on the Thursday the 13th of June. If you’ve not signed up to play yet then you can do so here.
The Ecommerce Cup is the football tournament of the year and sees the biggest names in ecommerce come together for a friendly gathering off the pitch, although on pitch it’s a tough competition. Many teams have attended every year with Linnworks billing themselves as “The best team never to win the Ecommerce Cup” and ChannelAdvisor determined to go all the way in 2019 (they did win the Shield as well as their second team being runners up in 2018).
2019 will be the seventh annual Ecommerce Cup and other familiar names returning for another season are Just Eat (previous winners), BazaarVoice, Ingenico, PayPal, Pricesearcher and Visual Soft.
The Ecommerce Cup 2019 is open to everyone involved in ecommerce whether you’re a retailer, brand, marketplace, platform, or a third party supplier or courier to the industry. It’s five a side but you’ll probably want to bring a few reserves so your team registration covers up to 8 players including your three reserves.
The tournament is once again being held at the new home of the Ecommerce Cup, PlayFootball Sheperd’s Bush and will run from midday and until 8pm.
There are full bar facilities at the venue and a Hog Roast will also be onsite. Generally the bar gets pretty busy towards the end of the tournament where teams can view live league tables on multiple screens and follow the action throughout the day whilst socialising with colleagues from across the industry.
Tamebay, InternetRetailing and eDelivery staff and Editors will be present covering the matches, taking photos, writing up and making sure you have a great day. We look forward to seeing you there.
