Take over the world in underwear,” is the motto Clare Haines of Lingerie Outlet Stores follows when it comes to her business.

Speaking at ChannelAdvisor Connect 2019 today, Clare Haines founder and director of Lingerie Outlet Stores started her global business from her kitchen table back in 2009 and now turning over 7.4 million.

‘Take advice, ask questions and listen’

Clare puts down the success of any business to hard work. This involves working 365 days a year which not always seem glamorous. Future business owners must remember that one day you might do a fun event like ChannelAdvisor Connect and the next you might work until midnight to complete orders.

However, she says growth is a journey. If you want to succeed, says Clare, take advice, ask the right questions and listen to the answers. She encourages entrepreneurs to be ‘human.’ You’re allowed to turn around and say what you’re good at, and what you don’t know.

What’s the next growth path?

What we now need as a business is a good management team. We’re focusing on our strategy. In January, we moved to a larger building with more office space in order to help us grow. We have enough stock, our growth will come from investing in people.
