eBay are bringing about 40 full-time customer-service jobs to Baton Rouge, Louisiana as part of eBay@Home, an initiative that allows employees to work from home.
Initially introduced in the US in 2018 in Akron, Ohio, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas, eBay@Home expands eBay’s customer service footprint and makes a direct connection with customers in the communities in which they live and work.
eBay say it is the company’s first formal work from home scheme within the Global Customer Experience organisation. Last year, eBay promised to create close to 300 remote, full-time customer service positions globally, including 120 positions in the USA, by the end of 2018.
eBay will be expanding this program to Baton Rouge in late summer 2019 by hiring about 40 customer service representatives and welcoming them into the eBay family.
All eBay@Home employees will receive locally competitive pay and full-time benefits and will be fully integrated into the eBay community. In addition to receiving the technology necessary for their jobs, eBay@home teammates will receive five weeks’ paid virtual classroom and on-the-job training. eBay plan to expand eBay@Home to more cities in 2019, as well as invest in new efforts to continue improving its customer service experience for both buyers and sellers.
