The 2019 eBay for Business Awards are launching today. The awards are eBay’s annual nationwide competition to find and celebrate the most successful and inspiring seller stars from its community of 200,000 British small businesses. Sellers who enter the eBay for Business Awards 2019 could win up to £5,000, a VIP trip to the USA and dedicated eBay business support.
The awards are also a springboard for many businesses, even if you don’t win the top prize, or indeed any prize, they force you to assess the state of your business in order to put your entry together. For those that top their categories there is support and recognition and often regional and national press coverage as an added bonus.
Each year the judges have a tough job to whittle down the entries to the finalists. There will be literally thousands of entries and each and every one is read before the shortlists are chosen until the winners are awarded the coveted 2019 eBay for Business awards later in the year.
This year’s judges include two previous awards winners from 2018 – Tom Schott of Schott Packaging and Jade Oliver of Heavenly Homes and Gardens
Named Career Change Award winner at the eBay for Business Awards 2018, Jade is now a full-time eBay-er, selling furniture, faux flowers and home accessories via her eBay shop, Heavenly Homes and Gardens. Tom was winner of The Growth Engine Award at the eBay for Business Awards 2018, Tom and his business partner, have carved out a niche business, selling a wide range of packaging materials to both consumer and business customers.
Tom and Jade will be joined by eBay UK VP Rob Hattrell, the driving force behind eBay Retail Revival in the UK which has seen 64 businesses achieve £4 million in sales since September 2018 (£2 million of which was generated in just the past three months alone). Murray Lambell, Vice President of Trading of eBay UK will also bring his decade of experience to the judging panel.
