SPUTNIK marketplace to integrate WeChat Pay and Alipay payments

SPUTNIK marketplace today announced the scheduled integration of on-demand payment platforms including WeChat Pay and Alipay.

The move is aimed at enabling shoppers to pay with their prefered payment methods.

The marketplace attributes the integration of the payment services to their increased demand amongst Chinese consumers who purchase on Russian platforms.

In April, Russian consumers began to widely use Alipay to purchase goods. A year later, Russia saw the introduction of the Chinese payment system, WeChat Pay. Both services are aimed at delivering a seamless shopping experience to Chinese shoppers in Russia.
