A Lithuanian-born online marketplace, Vinted have announced their expansion to the Netherlands to enable users to buy, sell and swap their handed-down clothing in exchange for money.

The move marks an important step in the marketplace’s “global mission” efforts to expand their growing community of 22 million users. Vinted are currently present in 12 territories including the UK, France, Germany, USA, Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium and with the Netherlands as a newly conquered market.

The marketplace offers merchants an ability to list for free their pre-loved clothing with photos, description, condition of an item, price and shipping details to make their product available to shoppers.

“This international experience is reinforced by a strong and developed shipping network, whereby local and global companies make national and cross-border shipping possible at competitive prices.”

“When it comes to fashion resale, we are convinced the Dutch market is essential to completing our international platform, and the latest piece to connect the puzzle alongside our most established markets.”
– Thomas Plantenga, chief executive officer, Vinted.
