eBay Adverts – Small prices for big family moments

No primary category set

eBay UK launched their latest adverts last night, aiming to highlight how the marketplace brings buyers and sellers together, as well as providing value beyond price. You’ll see them on TV, video on demand (YouTube), and on social media. The eBay adverts will run for 8 weeks from Monday the 2nd of September.

The campaign heroes real family insights and plays with the contradicting emotions that parents experience when their children are growing up. It juxtaposes the sentimentality of realising your child has grown up so fast with the joy of finding the exact new thing they need for their next stage.

“The strapline ‘Small prices for big family moments’ is supported by cinematic tropes, including dramatic lighting and an evocative soundtrack, which give the spot heightened emotions in a 30” film”

The campaign also includes a 10” film featuring a dinosaur birthday party, playfully highlighting eBay’s Fast and Free delivery service and how its convenience benefits busy families. If you sold a dinosaur costume lately, it could well be yours that’s featured in the video as naturally it was purchased on eBay!

“eBay has been part of British life for 20 years and buying and selling on the marketplace is so often intertwined with poignant family life moments. Our latest ad helps bring that emotion to life for the 26 million UK consumers who use eBay every month”.
– Gareth Jones, Chief Marketing Officer, eBay UK

The eBay adverts were made by creative agency 72andSunny Amsterdam and planned and bought by MediaCom.

“If you’re a parent, you’ve often felt both happy and sad about watching your child grow. It’s exciting to see them conquer new things, but it’s overwhelming to be left with so many things they’ve outgrown. We wanted to showcase how eBay can help with that in a fun, relatable way”.
– Jennifer Skupin, Creative Director, 72andSunny Amsterdam

  1. How about an ebay advert that tells you about how to make money from ebay? Buy – Deny – Money back – Goodbye.
I know it works as we get scammed by it alot. So I’m definately staying on ebay, Get what you want and your money back? It’s a no brainer!

  2. Meanwhile they are still allowing sellers paying them a huge amount for promoting Amazon listings at a greatly inflated price.

On the plus side you get Amazon Prime delivery without being a member.

  3. All I would like to know (add many people) is what is the first song of this advert. Just love it and plenty people are trying to find out online too.
