Amazon have launched a free shipping promotion to Isreal as well as adding Hebrew support to the Amazon Global site. International orders with $49 or more of eligible items will qualify for Free International Shipping to an address in Israel. The Hebrew language site comes after Amazon launched an English language Israel site earlier this past summer.
Amazon are translating an increasing number of products to provide titles, descriptions and details in Hebrew. International orders from Amazon will still be subject to local import laws and regulations but there are currently no import duties for goods valued under $75.
As well as buying through the Amazon Global Hebrew website, Israeli consumers can also buy from local sellers, offering a range of electronics, clothing, home and other consumer products with prices listed in shekels. To ship products locally to Israeli customers, Amazon will give sellers freedom to deliver with their preferred carriers. To ship products to US customers, sellers will be able to use FBA or again use their carrier of choice.
“We are constantly innovating on behalf of our customers, and together with the launch today we are making the shopping experience for our Israeli and Hebrew speakers even better and more convenient. Customers have requested a shopping experience in Hebrew, with access to items available for shipment to them and their local currency. Displaying the Hebrew language, and the free shipping benefit on Amazon.com to our customers in Israel, simplifies the browsing, purchasing and shipping of millions of items.”
– Samir Kumar, Vice President Exports and Expansion, Amazon
