Amazon fulfill hundreds of AmazonSmile charity lists

Amazon have surprised hundreds of charities across the US this holiday season by fulfilling their AmazonSmile charity wishlists. Hundreds of thousands of items have been donated to charities including but not limited to those involved with STEM education, homelessness, hunger and disaster relief. The act of kindness during the season of giving ensures the charities have enough supplies to continue working hard in supporting those in need near Christmas time.

Some of the items recently donated by Amazon include:

  • More than 5,000 blankets, sheets, and pillows.
  • More than 30,000 toys and educational items for kids.
  • More than 40,000 socks, outerwear, pajamas, shoes, and other apparel items.
  • More than 60,000 food and pantry items from water to canned goods.

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile charity lists give charities the chance to create lists of products they require from Amazon’s wide selection of items. People can then donate conveniently through the lists whilst knowing exactly how their money is helping the charity.

Customers can also shop with AmazonSmile and have the same experience they know on Amazon with the added bonus of supporting their favorite charity at no cost to them – since launching, AmazonSmile has donated more than $155 million to hundreds of thousands of charitable organizations.

Marketplaces that offer the chance to give to charities without even having to spend a penny are attractive to consumers. In today’s society, people like to feel that they are doing good and making a difference. Amazon paying attention to the consumers ecommerce experience whilst making them feel good about the choices they make will continue their growth.

Despite the news being in relation to Amazon in the US Consumers have been able to shop via AmazonSmile in the UK since 2017.
