Pantone have recently introduced 315 new colours and supporting digital solutions to the Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Color System. Refreshed and restyled for greater utility, Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors combines the industry’s most relevant color palette with new digital solutions that streamline your digital and physical color workflow. Newly arranged by colour family, it’s now easier and more intuitive to find the perfect shade and includes additions in every colour, including over 70 new hues of blue and 50 new shades of pink.

Colours in branding

Late last year Pantone announced the colour of the year 2020 as Classic Blue and I spoke about the significance of such a colour in branding. In today’s consumer climate, the colour Blue can come in very handy for branding and marketing in general because of how the colour makes people feel. Blue is a relaxing colour and in an increasingly energetic world, a brand might not want to create even more chaos in a customer’s life. It’s not surprising after realising the significance of Blue that Pantone have added a new set of blue hues to the colour system. All colours have specific meanings and the colours you use in your branding will talk for your business, that’s why understanding the psychology of colour is vital when considering your consumer base and the message your company or brand stands for.

“The colors that are influencing design today have evolved to reflect shifting societal views, new technological innovations, and a truly global outlook,”

“With the ability to interpret the influence of color on overall consumer psychology, we have enhanced the utility of our Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Color System with this new collection of engaging hues, enabling the design community to stay on the cutting edge of color selection.”
– Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.
