eBay Shop Subscription Coronavirus Relief Refunds

No primary category set

The eBay Shop Subscription Coronavirus Relief Refunds program is now live. The aim is to relieve some of the pressure due to the changing circumstances around COVID-19 and so eBay will now refund your shop subscription fees if you have to shut down your eBay shop for an extended period of time.

Ideally you will keep your eBay Shop up and running as the government has stipulated that ecommerce is encouraged and business must go on. However we are aware that many are unable to do so, either because their sales have fallen to literally zero or you are unable to implement strict social distancing either in your warehouse or for shipping. If that’s you then the eBay Shop Subscription Coronavirus Relief Refunds program effectively enables you to pause your business without losing all of your eBay settings positioning you to relaunch as soon as you are able to recommence operations.

For April or May, or both, if you turn on your holiday settings and hide all fixed price listings between the 1st and 25th of a calendar month, eBay will credit back that month’s shop subscription. If you turn on holiday settings and hide all fixed price listings for 13 days or more between the 1st and 25th of a calendar month, but not the full period, eBay will credit you 50% of the month’s subscription.

The eBay Shop Subscription Coronavirus Relief Refunds are only available by invitation – you’ll receive an email or find a note in your eBay My Messages if you qualify. If you are eligible for the promotion and want to take advantage you’ll need to opt-in button and then make sure you turn on your holiday settings and hide your fixed-price listings.

If you receive your eBay invoice at the end of each month: Any credit for April’s shop subscription will appear in your invoice dated April 30th. Any credit for May’s shop subscription will appear in your invoice dated May 31st.

If you receive your eBay invoice in the middle of each month: Any credit for April’s shop subscription will appear in your invoice dated May 15th. Any credit for May’s shop subscription will appear in your invoice dated June 15th.

If you have changed your shop subscription tier during the Promotion Period, eBay will look at the actual shop subscription fees incurred in each period and credit back based on this value.

This promotion is not available to private sellers and you will only be invite to take advantage of the program if you had an active shop subscription on the 28th of March 2020.

Full details of this offer are available on eBay here, including links to activate the offer and put your listings on hold.

  1. God knows what they are doing but 40 minutes ago we got an email saying we had downgraded our feature shop to a basic one! now on hold to speak to someone to see wtf is going on…

  2. Yeah too good to be true, I cancelled the shop on the 26th, I was going to just reopen it on Thursday when I get the time and lock it down straight away, but the devil is in the detail.
Alas there is the easy way and with eBay and there is the hard way.
Plus I have 24quid left in PayPal after they just took the fees today. So it is start from scratch again when this all ends..
This is what they should have done straight away however, and have clearly had a pile of cancelled stores so decided to act…
Least they did something in the end however

  3. If this if that if you don’t meet our requirements blah blah blah.

How about a blanket reduction on subscription shop fees??

” the government has stipulated that ecommerce is encouraged and business must go on” worked it out yet ebay !?!?!??!
