Shiptheory, a Shipping automation platform have recently launched a Handheld Barcode Scanner for android, Streamlining ecommerce in a way that makes hitting consumer demand easier than ever, creating substantial improvements in efficiency.

“We are excited to announce the launch of our handheld barcode scanner app. Use with your Shiptheory account to instantly print shipping labels on the go”
– Shiptheory

According to the description for the app Shiptheory is the bridge between your e-commerce website and all your postage carriers. It automates selecting postage services for your orders based on a variety of rules such as product weight, price, destination country and more.

This app will streamline your pick and pack workflow. Scan barcodes or QR codes for your orders with this app and the postage label will come straight out of your printer. All automated through your account.

Shiptheory communicates directly with your desktop and thermal label printers. Whether you have 1 printer or 100 printers, Shiptheory will automatically generate shipping labels and send them to the correct printer without you ever needing to click a button.

The forbidden apple

There really is an app for everything, just a shame it isn’t available on the Apple Store. Apple devices are popular among many merchants, especially those who own creative businesses. The barcode scanner app is sure to be a winner amongst many merchants, especially small to medium sized businesses working by themselves or with small teams and the lack of its availability on the Apple App Store is suprising, I’m guessing they want to see how well it works for android users first.
