In just over a year Amazon have launched their Flex delivery program in a total of 35 cities throughout India. The expansion of the program should help Amazon continue to successfully grow and improve it’s delivery capabilities in the country.
Amazon Flex is a program where independent contractors, called delivery partners, deliver Amazon orders. Hundreds of millions of items are available through Amazon, including electronics, household essentials, and much more. Delivery partners use their own vehicles to deliver packages to Amazon customers.
The program has created thousands of flexible, part-time job opportunities around India by allowing individuals with an android phone be their own boss and earn between ₹120 and ₹140 per hour helping Amazon deliver parcels. The expansion will also provide better connections for consumers wanting to buy from Amazon and more opportunities for sellers in India.
“Over the last one year we have received an overwhelming response for the Amazon Flex programme from thousands of individuals who have benefited by delivering to Amazon customers. Amazon Flex partners enjoy the part-time opportunity to earn more, especially at this time when the country is economically recovering from the impact of the nationwide lockdown. Their safety remains our top priority, and we are taking the right precautions, and have implemented a series of preventative health measures,”

India and various marketplaces selling in the country was hit by strict lockdown restrictions throughout COVID-19 that prevented non-essential eCommerce deliveries. Now that those restrictions are being eased Amazon is back in action and creating job opportunities for those affected. Amazon says that continuing to maintain a high standard of health and safety is important to them.
