If you’ve been on holiday or just not had time to get your eBay for Business awards entry in then you’re in luck! eBay just announced a two week-long extension to the eBay for Business awards entry period so no excuses – We’d love to see more Tamebay readers winning and it doesn’t matter if you are a one person start up or an established large brand or retailer, everyone has a chance of winning if they have an interesting story that captures the imagination of the judges.
The nationwide annual awards offer eBay entrepreneurs the chance to win up to £20,000 to invest in their business with the competition now closing at midnight on 4th of September 2020 instead of today.
The eBay for Business Awards is eBay UK’s fourth annual competition to find and celebrate the most successful, innovative, and inspiring entrepreneurs from the platform’s 300,000 strong community of small businesses.
Following an incredibly challenging start to the year for many small businesses, each of the 11 category prize winners will receive a £5,000 prize to invest in their business. With a combined value of over £15,000, a free one-year eBay Anchor Store Subscription and access to eBay’s Concierge, the gold-plated customer service team, will also be awarded to category prize winners to support them in growing their businesses over the next year.
This year’s Grand Prize winner will also receive an extra £15,000 cash sum, as well as a unique marketing bundle worth over £100,000, in recognition of their entrepreneurial success.
Winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges, including eBay UK VP Rob Hattrell and a number of eBay’s brand partners, and will be announced on social media at the end of October. You can submit your eBay for Business awards entry on the eBay for Business awards website.
“Since winning our award last year our business has gone from strength to strength. Just days after accepting our prize money we took the plunge and expanded our business, getting a bigger warehouse, investing in new tech, and one of us even left our 12 year career behind to focus on Genuine Parts full time. The award was a real turning point in our story, and the support we’ve received from eBay has been so important in helping us to realise our business ambitions, especially during such difficult times over the last few months. I’d urge anyone considering entering, to do it! You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.”
– Brothers and founders of Genuine Parts, Michael and Chris Cleary, who won the Family Business Award at last year’s eBay for Business awards
“This year has been an undoubtedly tough one for many small businesses, as SMEs up and down the country have fought to continue trading throughout the pandemic. Our sellers have shown real agility and resilience in dealing with the disruption to keep their businesses moving, which is why we want to celebrate the achievements of our valued sellers with bigger prizes than ever for the 2020 Awards.
I’m looking forward to finding out about the unique stories behind the brightest and best of our small business community on eBay. Whether you’re a kitchen table side hustle, a family-run business or a lockdown start-up, we want to hear from you!”
– Rob Hattrell, UK VP, eBay

Needle in a haystack?
Surely there is a custom t-shirt printer, or card marker in there somewhere, pretty sure we had a home-based cardmaker before. But 2 won’t hurt. A lot of great UK based brands have already gone.
“…300,000 strong community of small businesses…”
There’s EuroCarParts trading with the use of (at least) 3 separate business accounts. This company is not a small business by any means. They could probably afford to purchase the whole platform out for the UK……
Anyhow, I thought trading on multi accounts & using same business entity was/is prohibited on Ebay… unless you’re a “small business”.
