Etsy have announced that they have introduced Klarna’s ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ solution giving US buyers a flexible payment option to use when purchasing on the site.
The rollout of Klarna as a payment option will begin in the US and eventually make its way into other core markets. Klarna’s ‘Pay later’ solution for Etsy is enabled by Adyen, the payments platform of choice for many companies.
“We’re excited to work with Klarna to expand the number of payment options available to shoppers through Etsy Payments. Klarna will enable shoppers to buy on Etsy with greater financial control and convenience, without additional fees for sellers. We believe this flexible solution will be particularly valuable during the peak holiday shopping period when many shoppers are buying special items for their loved ones.”
– Kruti Patel Goyal, Chief Product Officer, Etsy
The availability of Klarna on Etsy is good news for the millions of creative entrepreneurs selling on the site as it opens up more options for a whole range of buyers to purchase confidently. People who need more time to pay in the current financial climate will be able to make purchases they may not have made before.
“We are thrilled to grow our relationship with Etsy to make it even easier for their vibrant buyer community to get the items they love. Not only does this relationship bring new flexible payment options to shoppers globally, we’re proud to work with Etsy, a platform that supports small businesses around the world.”

Sounds like a great idea for both small business sellers and Etsy buyers! Hopefully, they add more than just the US to the plan. Canada and Europe are large contenders for Etsy.
