Linn Academy 2020 is all wrapped up but unlike previous years, it’s not too late to watch the content as all of it has been recorded and is now available online – the first time Linn Academy 2020 on demand has been made available as soon as the conference finished! Plus, the best news is that your colleagues can let you know what their top sessions were and you can jump straight in to watch them. As is always the case with Linn Academy, some of the biggest partners you work with were there. You’ll find sessions from Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Google and Klarna focusing on practical guidance to help grow your business.
The big theme that came from Linn Academy 2020 was that the key winners were those able to pivot in an ever changing world. With what seems a never ending deluge of bad news through the mainstream media, it was great to hear from some amazing retailers on the virtual stage and hear their stories and how they have survived and thrived over the first nine months of 2020.
Linn Academy 2020 on demand- Retailers
Brewdog
One session you’ll want to check in on was from Brewdog – not least because it involves beer. Brewdog made for a fantastic and compelling session on how they pivoted through the pandemic, by converting their remaining open venues into drive-through locations where customers could order and collect food and beer from the door.
“The company realised that the existing plan and strategy were no longer relevant for the next few months. We had to rapidly simplify the plan. I remember writing on a board two strategic points: 1) Ensure the business survives and 2) Protect as many livelihoods as possible.”
– David McDowall, chief operating officer, BrewDog
Brewdog also have a massive win with their specially produced hazy Barnard Castle Eye Test IPA, selling half a million cans within its first three days of presale thanks to their most engaged social media post ever!
Turtle Wax
Turtle Wax are another brand with a fantastic story to share and their session covered from operational and infrastructure change to the cultural shift required to suddenly be speaking directly to the consumer rather than to wholesale or retail customers.
It was also a huge growth period for the company, Turtle Wax had a three-year strategy aiming for ecommerce to make up 10% of its business by 2023 – they delivered that during the pandemic thanks to their ability to pivot quickly during the pandemic lockdwon.
