Huboo doubles warehouse space for increased demand

Huboo, the Bristol-based fulfilment provider, has had to double their warehouse space to cope with increased demand for ecommerce orders.

Following the news that UK warehouse lettings have surged over the last quarter, Huboo has added a third warehouse to its existing two where it provides end-to-end fulfilment services for ecommerce businesses of all sizes. And that’s not it, with continued demand they plan to double warehouse space again by the end of Q1 2021.

It’s no real surprise with the pandemic placing strain on existing ecommerce merchants and retailers who for the second time are seeing UK Governments forcing the high street to shut. The switch to online will be permanent for many and as consumers get accustomed to shopping online there are no signs that ecomerce orders are ever going to slow.

“We’ve been growing at a steady rate throughout 2020 but the last quarter has taken everyone by surprise. We’ve added a third local warehouse in Bristol to meet demand and are actively seeking out both UK and EU expansion options for peak and post Brexit.

The growth of online shopping has led to a boom in demand for third party logistics solutions – as they’re the quickest and cheapest solution for ecommerce and high street retailers looking to grow or diversify with both large scale requirements or even to extend a specific range or channel, as well as move to target D2C.

We were seeing steady growth before the pandemic, but consumer habits have been catapulted years ahead of where they would have been with COVID19 driving consumers to online shopping. With the peak trading period approaching and Q1 of 2021 seeing Brexit come in, the industry is in for an exhilarating few months.

Whilst growth is great, and it’s resulting in scores of new employment opportunities within the sector, it’s vital that the job roles created are sustainable and human-centric to ensure the industry-growth is supported by well-staffed teams. Without the manpower, the industry would buckle.”
