A creative advert released by eBay shows how life is one big puzzle and that they give consumers a place to find ‘puzzle pieces’ that fit with what they already own.
The advert is one of my favorites from eBay because it plays on the fact that they house a huge range of products both new and used, making it a place where anyone can go to find the missing piece to their puzzle whether that be for their home, like in the advert or maybe a vintage item that you’ve been looking for. eBay is probably one of the first places you’d look for something of that kind.
I like that the advert plays on the fact that when things no longer fit, you can sell them on eBay to someone who they will fit for. In a funny way, it’s acknowledging the fact that life is just one giant forever changing puzzle. It can also be appreciated that a puzzle is a very recognisable thing, which has been around for many generations and eBay has seen many of the generation specific trends come and go highlighting them as a place that has been there for buyers and sellers through many walks of life.
Lockdown Puzzle surge:
On the subject of puzzles, it’s great to see how something as simple as a puzzle can be there for us in our times of need. During Coronavirus lockdowns eBay saw the sales of toys and games on the platform jump in popularity with Sales of 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles jumping 36% following the government’s announcement.
