Swoope Local helps small independent businesses get online

An online marketplace has launched to help get small independent businesses online during the challenges of Coronavirus. Swoope Local aims to empower local business owners and help the struggling high streets survive.

According to reports the online marketplace has been set up to support local retailers by offering them multiple places to sell their products in addition to their local high street business. Rather than simply pushing a move online, Swoop Local encourages local shopping in all forms and provides sellers with a platform to use as their online storefront without making financial sacrifices. Swoope offers retailers a chance to showcase and sell their products online, helping them compete with leading online marketplaces.

This isn’t the first marketplace that has launched in the UK to support local businesses. We have seen a number of them popping up from strictly localised platforms to platforms in some sort of niche. Having a number of online marketplaces to choose from outside of the larger more well-known sorts give sellers more opportunities to get noticed in local communities around the country.

“High streets are struggling because of the financial implications of the last 10 years, never mind the last 9 months, there is no doubt about it. Our focus is to help these local retailers make a simple upgrade to their current situation by providing them with comprehensive out the box solution, for free, to sell products online and in store, which is key to survival in a time where ever-changing restrictions are in place. By bringing these businesses online into one place, we are giving them a chance to compete with the likes of Amazon and other industry leaders whose success is accelerating the decline of our local economy’s. It’s absolutely free to set up your Swoope Local store and no monthly contracts. Together we can build a marketplace that actually helps local economies thrive and doesn’t overlook them.”
