Buy Britain launches to help British businesses

A new online marketplace called Buy Britain has launched aiming to help businesses selling British-made products survive whilst supporting the UK economy. Founder Michael Oszmann wants to end the struggles British sellers are currently facing and see craftsmen and women thrive through a digital outlet.

“Buy Britain is the proudly British platform for makers, producers, designers, artists and craftspeople to sell their work. Sellers can create their own shopfront on the platform and reach a wider audience by coming online in an environment that fosters and celebrates their success. We believe our marketplace model is a win-win; making it easy to Buy British and risk-free to sell your British-made products online.”

The UK based marketplace is helping to support the local economy by urging buyers to reduce the miles their goods are traveling and use higher quality goods for longer by buying from sellers on Buy Britain. The platform is said to provide a low-risk way for businesses to get selling online whilst BuyBritain aims to get your brand noticed through a positive ‘upwards spiral’ with free advertisement and promotion of the marketplace on social media, blogs & articles, the press, and more.

“We pay for advertising and do not pass on this cost to you. We hope that by doing this, we can drive more and more sales for British manufacturers and do our bit to help the economy.”

  1. “Payments are fast and through stripe”

“Stripe is an American financial services and software as a service company dual-headquartered in San Francisco, California and Dublin, Ireland”

  2. Hi Jim, thanks for your comment re Stripe – which is of course correct.
We are not claiming that everything on or to do with the site is 100% British (though there are a number of products for sale that are).
The key for us is whether the raw materials/components – wherever they are sourced from – are put together in Britain by British employees; resulting in a new unique quality product and helping UK employment and the local economy.
Buy Britain has been built and is being run on that basis.
    Hope that helps.
