TikTok are looking for even more ways to open up ecommerce opportunities for creators on their platform with the launch of Shop Seller University, described as a training hub to help you do business on TikTok.

Just months after beginning their partnership with Shopify, TikTok announces their Shop Seller University which is currently being limited to Indonesia. The portal will educate users on how they can use the platform to sell in one of two ways. On their own or through TikTok Affiliate.

Selling on TikTok:

Selling products on your own

According to TikTok users will be able to sell through their personal page and display products on their videos and live streams. When customers view the content, they can be re-directed to the corresponding product detail page by clicking on a product anchor.

TikTok are encouraging users to demonstrate products via creative and effective content. It looks like they want the platform to maintain its creative reputation despite the new ecommerce push.

Selling through TikTok Affiliate

TikTok says that their affiliate program lets brands promote their products through the creative genius of the influencers on their platform. Users will be able to upload their products to the Seller Center, set their promotion plans, and collaborate with TikTok influencers to promote their products.

It will be interesting to see how TikTok expands on this. With many businesses promoting themselves on TikTok’s unique platform, the new suite of lessons on seller tools, policies and the latest updates to the shop could be a great step for those businesses to use to take full advantage of selling on TikTok.
