DPD UK appoint Elaine Kerr as CEO

DPD UK have announced today their new CEO will be Elaine Kerr.

The appointment will take effect from 1 June 2021 and Elaine will report to Yves Delmas, Chief Operating Officer DPDgroup Europe. Elaine replaces previous CEO Dwain McDonald who left his £1m-a-year job with “immediate effect” after an ‘internal investigation’ in March.

Elaine has worked for DPD for over 28 years, joining as a Sales Executive based in the North West, followed by roles of Customer Relationship Manager and Head of CRM before being promoted to the DPD UK senior management team in 2008 as Director of CRM. In 2020, Elaine became Executive Director, Sales, CRM & Customer Services.

“Elaine has had a tremendous career with DPD and has been instrumental in growing our customer portfolio to include some of the most prestigious brands and securing our continued growth, both domestically and internationally.

Her passion for ensuring that we put our customers at the heart of everything we do continually improves the customer experience and keeps us striving to deliver the next innovation.

Elaine will now continue this success story in the role of CEO, building on the strengths of the senior management team to lead the business to a new chapter, and I wish her every success in her new role.”

– Yves Delmas, Chief Operating Officer, DPDgroup Europe

  1. Given DPD’s abysmal treatment of our business, after they have failed to deliver or two return two large boxes of our products, I’m surprised that anyone would want to be CEO of this company! I hope the salary helps Elaine sleep at night, because DPD’s loss of my goods has crippled our business after a year of Covid restrictions.

DPD’s exports team has advised me that the goods have been lost. But the claims team now refuses to pay because they say the goods are not lost. This is £1600 worth of product! The shipment was collected from us 9th February, and 3.5 months later this is still unresolved. This is by far the single worst customer service I have ever experienced.
