The hunt for the best talent and stories of entrepreneurship in the eBay world has just started with the announcement of the 5th eBay for Business Awards 2021. This is a contest that any business can win from the largest to the smallest, from the for profit to the not for profit, from the one man band to the business creating employment for dozens or even hundreds. If you have a story to tell then you could be in with a chance of winning and we’d encourage you to enter.
Last year thousands of candidates entered and inspiring entrepreneurs from across the nation shared how they had successfully managed their business and thrived despite the pandemic.
eBay for Business Awards 2021 Prizes
Each finalist will go home with a prize of £5,000. They will also be given access to a range of tailored marketing and business support, such as a free anchor store subscription, eBay Concierge service, or enrolment in eBay’s Pro-Trader programme.
The Grand Prize winner will be awarded an extra £15,000 (£20,000 prize in total), in recognition of their entrepreneurial flair and success. They will also receive a package of marketing and PR support from eBay valued at over £100,000, giving them the power to stand out, increase exposure and grow their business.
“The pandemic has presented many challenges to small businesses up and down the country, so this year’s eBay for Business Awards are more important than ever in recognising the ingenuity and resilience of Britain’s entrepreneurs.
The eBay for Business Awards are a key milestone in our year where we stop to celebrate inspiring businesses across the country and their small business power. I’m always amazed by the talent of the business owners who operate on our platform, whether they’re driving huge growth, building livelihoods, creating jobs in the community or fundraising for charity. I can’t wait to see all the stories from this year’s entries.”
– Murray Lambell, UK General Manager, eBay
What are the judges looking for?
The eBay for Business Awards 2021 will be looking beyond pure business success, they will be looking for the story behind the business and that’s no more so than this year as we exit the pandemic which has impacted everyone’s lives. Perhaps you have a 20 year old business which has pivoted during the pandemic and can talk about your community of buyers and why they love your company. Maybe you’ve started a business for the first time in the last year due to a change in circumstances and can tell the judges what a difference eBay has made to you. Or perhaps your entire business is founded around ethical principles with a social or environmental goal and you use eBay as a vehicle to get your products to market?
eBay want to hear from you and the eBay for Business Awards 2021 are free to enter so make sure you start your entry today.
“Winning last year’s eBay for Business Awards was the best thing that has ever happened to my business, it’s been a gamechanger for me and has enabled me to level up my business in several ways. I used my prize money to launch my own website, as well as re-branding and increasing the stock levels on my eBay shop. I’ve also been able to recruit a small team and have big plans to launch my own clothing label by the end of the year!
My advice to this year’s entrants would be to just go for it, take the gamble and take a chance on your dreams. Make sure to share every detail of your business as it’s unique to you. I’m looking forward to hearing the success stories from this year’s awards.”
