eBay are warning all business sellers about a legal change in the energy consumption labelling of light sources – light bulbs to you and me – which comes into effect on the 1st of September 2021.
The new regulation defines new legal requirements for the labelling of light sources and it will change previous regulations and obligations. The labelling obligations continue to include, among other things, the indication of the energy efficiency class and the associated “EC Range”.
Once you’ve added the item specifics Energy Efficiency Class and EC Range to your listings, an arrow with the range of energy efficiency classes can be displayed on the search results page.
You’ll also need to add correct values for the item specifics Brand, Manufacturer number and EAN. If you provide this information and eBay’s external service provider has the data available, the electronic energy label and product data sheet can be displayed by the system on the item page on eBay. If the information is available for older products, it will also be displayed if possible.
The display of energy labels for eBay listings with variants is excluded.
