Amazon Prime’s Delvieroo Plus incentive has been announced offering a year of free deliveries meals direct to your door. It offers free delivery on all your favourite restaurants and takeaways when you spend £25 or more on Deliveroo.
Generally this is going to save you around a couple of quid every time you have food delivered, although with the £25 spend requirement you’ll unlikely to be eating alone so make sure you have family or friends around to take advantage of the offer. Frankly, even if you only decide to get a takeaway once in the next 12 months you might as well sign up as it’ll save you the delivery charge.
Amazon wanted to invest in Deliveroo, so it’s natural for them to want to pimp the service to boost Deliveroo’s value. They also loaned them cash last year while the funding round was being investigated by the CMA.
You might think that this is typical of the sign up for a free offer which sneakily turns into a subscription service if you forget to cancel, but rest assured Amazon aren’t playing dirty tricks to con you out of your hard earned cash. You will not be automatically renewed into a paid Deliveroo Plus subscription at the end of the offer, unless you are switching to this offer from an existing Deliveroo Plus subscription. In the latter case, you will be switched back to your original Deliveroo subscription at the end of the 1-year offer.
The Deliveroo Plus and Amazon Prime offer includes unlimited free delivery on Deliveroo with orders over £25. You’ll get Get free delivery from hundreds of restaurant and grocery partners, as well as exclusive restaurant offers, which aren’t available to other customers.
Head to deliveroo.co.uk/amazon-prime and click on ‘Claim with Amazon Prime.’ Then, if prompted, sign into your Deliveroo account. You’ll then be asked to confirm that you want to switch plans. If you decide to switch and redeem the offer, at the end of the 12-month offer, you will be automatically switched back to your original Plus membership.
Of course you may have spotted the one problem with this offer… yes you need to have an Amazon Prime account with the main benefit of free deliveries on all Prime purchases from Amazon and marketplace sellers. This offer just makes it even more cost effective and a no brainer which is exactly what Amazon want and as a marketplace seller the more people who sign up to Prime the more customers you have potentially buying your products.
