eBay have handed over a huge Out Of Home (OOH) advertising budget to independent traders in their digital Small Business Shopfronts campaign over the Christmas period. Small Business Shopfronts puts eBay sellers right at the forefront on highstreets near you.

“With ongoing uncertainty around supply, what eBay can offer to shoppers is our secret weapon – a diversity of over 300,000 agile UK small business sellers that can give them more choice – whether they are looking for the new, the refurbished, the coveted, or the hard to find this festive season.

We know our customers want to do their bit to support small businesses and we’re proud to bring small business power to the forefront of consumer’s minds this year through the creation of these shoppable OOH windows.”
– Eve Williams, CMO, eBay UK

eBay, one of the UK’s biggest platforms for Small Business, and McCann London teamed up with world-class window display designers from CLM Agency to create the Small Business Shopfronts, a shoppable digital OOH campaign encouraging consumers to shop small in the run up to Christmas.

Five of eBay UK’s Small Business Award winners were chosen to have their very own shop fronts designed and photographed, each celebrating the seller’s unique products and personalities.

Botanico, Brown & Ginger, Bosede Accessories, Go Thrift and St Rocco’s Hospice each have their own special out-of-home creative being exhibited on a range of large-scale digital sites, building awareness and giving recognition nationwide from both Westfield centres in London to New Street Station in Birmingham, Manchester One and beyond.

eBay digital Small Business ShopfrontsThis huge opportunity brings mass reach to small businesses lacking big budgets this year, putting eBay’s small businesses at the heart of the action leading up to the big day. Each of the joyful digital windows for Small Business Shopfronts reflects the one-off finds from small businesses on the marketplace.

The interactive out-of-home will also be completely shoppable, with QR codes on each display allowing members of the passing public to visit and support over 300,000 small businesses on eBay over the festive period.

“We’ve all been there: a never-ending Christmas list and only one free day to bag it all. Habitually, we hop online and shop in one-swoop from a big brand website. But where does the profit go? For eBay it’s a question that matters, and one which shines at the heart of eBay’s Small Business Shopfronts: a painstakingly crafted, interactive out-of-home campaign that asks the high street to ‘Make it a Small Business Christmas’ this year. It inspires people to gift for good from over 300,000 shops run by real, honest folk on eBay – direct from the media; that gives Small Businesses the big department store treatment this festive season.”
– Matt Searle, Creative Director, McCann London

‘Small Business Shopfronts’ shines a light on the variety of small businesses consumers can shop from on the eBay platform. Botanico offers an array of plants from across the world, Go Thrift sells pre-loved garments to be part of the solution to fast fashion and Brown & Ginger stocks unique hand-selected homeware. Bosede Accessories inventory includes African inspired jewellery and accessories and finally St Rocco’s Hospice sells a variety of products to raise funds for palliative care and support to patients in Warrington.
