Royal Mail have revealed their revamped delivery office in Wrexham which will help improve services for local customers and create a better working environment for their staff.
The delivery office underwent an extensive building programme over the last year before it was visited by MP Sarah Atherton who complimented the transformation greatly.
It was a pleasure to be invited to Royal Mail’s Delivery Office in Wrexham to see this transformation and to hear about the positive impact it has had on staff, customers and the efficiency of Royal Mail’s operations in Wrexham. The postal service continues to be vital for many in Wrexham and so I am pleased to see that Royal Mail have made this investment into their Wrexham site which will benefit many across our community.
Sarah Atherton, MP for Wrexham
On the old site, staff had to navigate a series of outdated standalone buildings while carrying out their work. These have been demolished and replaced with a new 475-square metre extension to the main building – bringing the whole operation under one roof to improve safety and efficiency.
The new site also includes extra sorting facilities, a new customer service point, improved staff areas and extended yard access to accommodate larger 17-tonne vehicles. The office remained fully operational while construction work was carried out to avoid any interruption to service.
The new Wrexham office is part of Royal Mail’s ongoing transformation to provide a better service for customers.
It is great to see the transformation of our delivery office which represents a significant investment for Royal Mail in the local area. We’re excited about the new building – it is a much better working environment than the old site and will help us provide a more efficient service for our customers.
