YoungOnes launches in UK to reduce staff shortages

A Dutch online freelance marketplace has launched in the UK after recording a successful year. YoungOnes’ launch in London responds to current demand for on-demand and temporary workers in the country.

YoungOnes aims to provide businesses with a much needed lifeline after the pandemic and Brexit resulted in two difficult years of retail. The easy to use app pairs young and eager freelancers with companies that have gaps in their workforce. Not only does it provide them with more work related opportunities but it also helps prevent staff shortages.

Currently freelancers and companies will be vetted and verified by YoungOnes before being allowed onto the platform. Collective Benefits are working with the freelance platform to provide liability and accident insurance to all of their freelancers.

Through their approach YoungOnes has seen active users in the Netherlands grow threefold to 18,000 and freelancers on the app have clocked a huge 1.8 million hours of work. More that 500,000 matches have been made between freelancers and clients and they are ready to build on this success in the UK.

When we were looking into countries for our expansion, launching YoungOnes in the UK made the most sense. With the UK economy bouncing back following the pandemic and with a lot of people leaving the UK due to Brexit, YoungOnes is offering the young people of the UK a brand new way of working and help attract them into the jobs that are now underserviced. 2021 was a year of incredible growth for our company and I have no doubt that we can replicate our success in the Netherlands over on British shores.
