LGBTQIA+ Pinterest UK Creator Fund applications open

No primary category set

The first Pinterest UK Creator Fund is launching today and if you consider yourself as coming from a part of an under-represented LGBTQIA+ sector of the population you can apply to access events and funds to boost your profile.

Following its launch in the US last year, the Pinterest UK Creator Fund aims to reduce barriers of entry for creators from historically marginalised communities which Pinterest say includes Black, LGBTQIA+, Asian, and Indigenous people, as well as people with disabilities. This is to ensure they can reach new audiences and are armed with the financial and educational support to succeed.

With applications now open from today until the 19th of June 2022, this first round of UK applications will focus on LGBTQIA+ Fashion and Beauty creators. A launch event for the fund is due to be held on the 4th of July in London.

Pinterest UK Creator Fund selection criteria

  • You will need to be a content creator with between 1k – 10K followers on Pinterest or other social platforms.
  • You will have created Idea Pins on Pinterest, and looking to grow your content creation skills, have yet to monetise your content
  • You need to identify as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community

If that’s you, then you can apply for the Creator Fund today

Creator Fund programme

Those selected will be invited to join an intimate five-week programme of events, education and inspiration and will receive £20k in the form of a cash grant, equipment and more. All part of Pinterest’s ongoing work to which they say will make the platform an inclusive and inspiring place.

Participants will be asked to sign an agreement with Pinterest and attend 5 weekly educational sessions and deliver a minimum of 15 idea pins and 2 boards of content on Pinterest over the course of a 5 week period.

At Pinterest we’re committed to elevating creators from under-represented communities, and building a positive and inspiring place for their content to be discovered and celebrated. Through our Creator Fund, we’re able to assist talent financially and educationally and provide a clear path for creators to access the tools and resources they need to succeed.
