Vinted leading C2C secondhand fashion and lifestyle marketplace is to launch a dedicated shipping brand Vinted Go, to deliver a range of new shipping services to Vinted’s marketplace members and other businesses.
This is a major change for the marketplace and is part of a wider reshaping the Vinted Group structure to support their aims and growth strategy. Today, they have 65 million members across 16 markets in Europe and North America, with more than 300 million secondhand items listed on the Vinted Marketplace.
At the Group’s core, Vinted Marketplace continues on its mission to make secondhand first choice. The Marketplace is now led by CEO Adam Jay, who joined the company earlier this year. Thomas Plantenga becomes Vinted Group CEO.
Adam brings strong experience in consumer technology, with roles at Expedia Group and Hotels.com, Avis and Travelport. At Vinted, his remit is to ensure Vinted continues on its mission to make secondhand first choice globally, and that the marketplace achieves its ambitious growth goals. In particular, the team will focus on developing product features and services in order to respond to consumer needs, ensure member safety, and to help attract new members outside its current core user group.

The new Vinted structure paves the way for the creation of Vinted Go, which will enable more convenient and more affordable delivery options for Vinted Marketplace and other businesses, with a focus on PUDO (pick-up, drop-off) as a more carbon-efficient delivery option than to-home. Longer term, its ambition is to implement further solutions to reduce the negative impact of parcel delivery on the environment.
Shipping has long been a core part of the Vinted proposition, and its ever-growing network today consists of 43 shipping carriers and 220,000 PUDO points across Europe. This means members can send and receive secondhand items from one another affordably, conveniently and in some cases, due to the focus on PUDO, with a lower carbon impact than to-home delivery.

Own branded lockers
Vinted Go is launching with two new services. This month it will begin rolling out a selection of own-branded lockers in the Paris area. This service will mean Vinted members in Paris can choose Vinted Go as a delivery option for their purchases, which will be transported between the PUDOs in electric vehicles.
New shipping platform
At the same time, Vinted Go is developing a new digital shipping platform which will bring together and optimize third party carrier infrastructure for any business. The platform will be launched in the next month.
Cross border shipping infrastructure in Europe is highly fragmented and lacks the affordability, convenience and connectivity that is key to enable international ecommerce.
