Here’s an interesting story for the day. A French collector has listed his one of a kind console collection on eBay for 984 000,00 Euros as a Buy it Now price!
As detailed in the listing description, the French collector known as kariaure believes that they have the largest collection of consoles to exist, consisting of all models, colours, variations, commercial and limited editions from over 50 years. Within the thousands of pieces there are consoles that the seller believes cannot be found anywhere else. A true collectors dream.
Kariaure began his initial collection in the 90’s without putting much thought into it’s future. After a few stop-starts along the way he was able to amass this huge collection which includes pieces from Japan. This particular collection includes consoles acquired from the early 2000’s and shows what was achievable with enough dedication.
Collectors would likely jump into a time machine without much thought to go back to those years. Back then things held value in a way that cannot be compared to our mass produced world today. I know I wish I had taken better care of my Pokémon cards back then, knowing how sought after some of them are now.
