Founded in 1778, Debenhams, one of the UK’s best loved Fashion, Beauty and Gift retailers, was acquired by the Boohoo Group in January 2021 and launched in April of the same year adopting a purely online presence.

Why was Debenhams an attractive opportunity?

Debenhams is an iconic British heritage brand and we are transforming it to be the great British digital department store. Debenhams has been playing a small role in the moments for that matter in people’s lives for over 220 years and it will continue to so long into the future.

Debenhams marketplace is a best kept secret, what do you offer retailers?

We have a great community of customers of all ages and a brand that is loved and recognised by most of the UK population.

We provide a way to reach these consumers, that should be seen as an extension of, and complementary, to a retailer’s direct to consumer strategy.

Which product verticals work best for marketplace retailers on Debenhams.com?

We have a have consumer base focused on fashion, home and beauty. Consumers come to us for a wide selection of choice from great brands at accessible prices.
