Royal Mail will now begin to deliver Sunday Special Delivery Guaranteed items in many areas of the country.
For the first time ever in May this year, a Royal Mail Sunday delivery service became available to over 12,000 SME online retailers. This is a significant increase from the 75 large online retailers who had early access to the service. The service started for any retailer or marketplace seller using the Royal Mail Tracked 24 service with next day delivery for items ordered on a Saturday.
There is of course a slight problem with the Sunday Special Delivery service and that’s the constant strikes which are taking place. While Royal Mail are prioritising premium services leaving letters and untracked items at the back of the queue, the entire postal service is pretty unreliable and strike action isn’t going to stop any time soon.
