Miravia marketplace launched by Alibaba

Miravia marketplace has launched in Spain – a new offer from Alibaba, which aims to connect the country’s 30 million online buyers with brands and content creators.

With fashion, beauty, food and lifestyle products, Miravia aims to connect consumers in different ways, majoring on, for example, exclusive content created by influencers and virtual makeup try-on tools. This appears to be drawing on the lessons learned in China and bringing some of the most effective marketing techniques to the West, but in a slightly muted form compared to Chinese tastes to appeal to Spanish buyers.

For consumers, Miravia offers free shipping on purchases over €10, 30 days free returns and promises fast secure payments – pretty much what you would expect from most major ecommerce sites in 2023. To encourage buying, there will be coupons to popular brands exclusive to Miravia, daily flash deals and weekly campaigns and promos on the best loved brands.

The key features when selling on the marketplace are:

Official brands and distributors get exclusive access to brand campaigns, improved visibility and search with no fixed costs. Brands will only pay commissions for sales and be offered free support from a Brand manager. They can also access free shipping with DBM Miravia logistics.
