Zooplus are the latest big brand name to announce that they will open a marketplace. CEO Geoffroy Lefebvre spoke on the main stage at Shoptalk Europe about their transformation to a customer-centric pet platform and revealed that a marketplace is to come.
zooplus already offers a full range of pet supplies with over 8,000 top products in stock and ready to ship. With over 17 years of expertise in pet food and pet accessories, and based in Munich, Germany, they operate online shops in more than 24 countries including the UK. It’s not been revealed yet in which regions the zooplus marketplace will first launch.
The aim of the new marketplace is to rapidly expand their product range, and having seen the success of other retailer led marketplaces one could expect their 8,000 product range to be dwarfed by marketplace listings.
In the more than 20 years since their launch in 1999, zooplus have shipped over 48 million parcels to countries across Europe and today with with delivery partners across Europe they ship to 28 different countries.
