eBay to end linking to Nectar

eBay to end linking to Nectar

After more than 12 years, from the 1st of September 2024, you will no longer be able to collect and spend Nectar points on eBay purchases the way you do now. It’ll be back to pre-2012, where you’ll need to visit the Nectar website or app before you buy on eBay if you want to carry on collecting points.

The two big differences are having to visit Nectar (similar to other cashback sites) before shopping on eBay and that you’ll no longer be able to convert your points directly into eBay vouchers to spend on the site.

The big advantage of the eBay Nectar partnership was that once your accounts were linked you’d automatically collect points when shopping on eBay… and now from September you’re going to have to do a bit of work each time you shop to carry on getting points. Recognising that this is going to be a nuisance for their users, Nectar have told users that they will be able to collect 2 points for every £1 spent at eBay (instead of the current 1 point per £1).

  • Until the 31st of August, you can continue to collect Nectar points on eligible eBay purchases and convert your points into eBay Vouchers.
  • Your points balance will be visible in your Nectar account
  • Any vouchers you already have will remain valid until their expiry date.
  • From the 1st of September 2024, your Nectar and eBay accounts will be unlinked, and you will no longer be able to collect Nectar points when you shop directly through the eBay website or app.
