Pinterest UK sales team boosted with ex Amazon & Meta execs

The Pinterest UK sales team is getting a boost this summer, with hires from Amazon Ads and Meta joining recently appointed UK MD Beth Horn, who joined Pinterest from Spotify. Caroline Orange-Northey as Director, Retail Sales, and Naureen Mohammed as Director, CPG Sales.

518 million people around the world come to Pinterest each month to  search, save, and shop the best ideas in the world for all of life’s moments. Pinterest has a growing, passionate user base across the UK and there is an opportunity for brands to connect with this audience when they’re considering what to do or buy. In the last year, clicks and saves of shoppable Pins in the UK increased by 75%.

Businesses can engage with customers who are planning what to buy next with 83% of weekly Pinners saying they made a purchase based on content they saw from brands on Pinterest.

These two appointments to the Pinterest UK sales team bolster the companies renewed focus on shopping on the platform and show encouraging signs that, out of all the social media platforms, Pinterest is fast becoming the forerunner to at last roll out robust ecommerce strategies and focus on bottom of the funnel activities.

Caroline Orange-Northey

Caroline Orange-Northey (right in image above) joins Pinterest from Amazon Ads, where for the last nine years, as part of the UK leadership team, she led vertical teams across fashion, consumer electronics, sports, home, and luxury. Orange-Northey is a seasoned media professional with more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of the industry, including radio, outdoor, cinema, streaming TV, gaming, print, digital, live sport, sports rights, and marketing partnerships.

I’m excited to join Pinterest during this crucial phase of the company’s growth. Pinterest has impressed me with its exceptional product offerings, which now enable a comprehensive end-to-end customer journey. Starting from where inspiration strikes, Pinterest guides users through their decision-making process, ultimately leading to sales. It’s like the happiest corner of the internet, and as someone who is relentlessly upbeat, this opportunity feels like the perfect fit for me. I’m eagerly looking forward to diving in and making a positive impact!

Having spent the last 25 years working in some of the biggest consumer goods and technology companies in the world including Johnson & Johnson and Unilever, Mohammed is an expert in her field, experienced in building and launching new revenue streams and internal capabilities.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to join Pinterest, a tranquil haven on the internet that is truly aligned to my personal values of inclusivity and representation. I’m eager to harness its unique power to connect CPG consumers with the products and brands they love, turning discovery into delight and inspiration into action.
