As Instagram Stories become ever more popular on the platform, to increase engagement you’ll soon be able to leave Instagram Stories Comments for your friends.
Stories allow you to share everyday moments and grow closer to the people and interests you care about through photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours. You can choose to share your Stories with all your followers or your Close Friends list, and also add them to your profile as story highlights.
Instagram Stories Comments
Now coming to Instagram and revealed in a post on Threads, Instagram Stories Comments are described as ‘lightweight comments’. Only people that follow you that you also follow back can leave comments, so it’s somewhat closed to stop you getting spammed, but the comments are public so anyone can see them.
Instagram Stories are transient lasting just 24 hours and, just like the videos, comments on Stories will also be temporary and vanish after a day. You should also find an option to disable comments on your Stories if you don’t wish deeper interactions with your followers.
It’s worth noting that you could always reply to Instagram Stories, but in the past this would have sent a DM to the Story poster. Now, Instagram are looking for Stories to be more of a community feature driving deeper engagement on the platform.
