Omnichannel retailing – Replicating instore experiences online

Physical retail is all about relationships, however fleetingly in the moment they are, with the brand and their representatives – the store assistants. So in an omnichannel retailing world, how do we replicate these instore experiences online?

Rodger Buijvoets, CEO of Crobox, discusses how digital store assistants can complement search and filter tools on websites, by asking consumers a string of questions to give a guided selling journey similar to instore experiences. Too often, filters and search are all about product attributes and if you don’t know what you want they’re too technical, what a guided selling experience with a digital store assistant brings is the ability to match products to your personal needs rather than expecting you to understand how a particular product attribute applies to you.

Rodger also highlights two real world examples of successful guided selling implementations with ASICS and Love Stories.
