eBay have notified sellers of two changes to eBay Ads that will come into effect on ebay.de from the 26th of February 2025.
Exclusive ad placement for premium campaigns
When you use eBay ads with a Premium Campaign, you will receive exclusive access to the first ad position in eBay search results in the future, which means your offers will be seen more quickly and your chances of selling will increase.
You don’t have to do anything for your existing Premium Campaign – you automatically benefit from the increased visibility! You continue to only pay for clicks on your premium ad and can set up your campaigns with innovative tools such as Smart Targeting and Recommended Campaigns.
Changed billing for ads with basic strategy
If you advertise your offers with ads with a basic strategy, the following still applies: With eBay you only pay when your item is sold.
What’s new is that sales and the ad rate will soon be calculated regardless of whether the buyer clicked on the ad themselves. This applies if the item is still being advertised at the time of sale and the ad has been clicked on at least once within the last 30 days. The advertising fee that was set at the time of sale will then be charged.
eBay say that this change makes it easier to control your spending as you will still only pay when an item sells and only if the item is still being advertised at the time of sale. As with any update, eBay recommend monitoring ad performance and adjusting your strategy accordingly.
