eBay Business Seller Update | January 2025

eBay are kicking off the year with some important enhancements and updates. Much of this has already been trailed so this is one seller update that shouldn’t cause concern to any sellers, but could make your business seller life easier!

January 2025 Seller Update

  • Improve your pre-loved clothing listings
  • Simplify your selling process with AI-driven bulk listings
  • New protection for buyers
  • Optimise your business management with eBay’s redesigned business policies page

Pre-loved clothing listings

Previously, when listing pre-loved clothing, you could only select ‘Used’ as the item condition. Soon, you’ll have three options to pick from: Pre-owned – Excellent, Pre-owned – Good, and Pre-owned – Fair. The existing ‘New with defects’ condition will also be renamed to ‘New with imperfections’ for items that are unworn but with visible flaws.

AI-driven bulk listings

eBay have announced that they’re rolling out their new AI-powered tool for bulk listings. It’s a quicker, easier way to create multiple detailed, high-quality listings across every category. Get more inventory in front of eBay buyers faster, with listings that stand out and help drive sales. eBay say that Fashion and Sports Trading Cards sellers have already seen success, so put a spotlight on your items and watch this tool work for you.

New protection for buyers

Buyers will soon benefit from a brand new protection every time they shop on eBay. This will come at no extra cost to business sellers or your buyers, and is part of our efforts to make eBay the best marketplace for our community. Starting from the 4th of February, Buyer Protection will be included on purchases on ebay.co.uk to give buyers more confidence and security when they shop.

Business policies

Using eBay business policies can save you valuable time when you’re creating listings. Rather than adding your payment, returns, and delivery information item by item, you can apply your chosen settings across entire groups of listings by creating policies. This is particularly useful for sellers who manage a large number of listings and want to make comprehensive adjustments from a central space.

Now, with a streamlined layout and improved functionality, it’s easier than ever to manage your listings from the new business policy page. Delivery has also been simplified, and you’ll be able to choose your courier options from pre-populated lists, including the carrier’s logo, so it’s intuitive and quick to set up your policies and get back to selling.

Business policies are free to use, you just need to opt in. You can find them on the left hand navigation of Seller Hub, or by clicking the link below.
