New delivery speed filters on eBay UK

The launch of new delivery speed filters has been announced on eBay UK and are available on desktop and mobile. This feature is designed to simplify the shopping experience by allowing buyers to easily find listings that offer fast delivery options.

By enabling buyers to filter their searches based on delivery speed, eBay hope to increase the visibility of listings that offer fast delivery options, while also helping to support conversion rates.

How to ensure your listings are visible when the delivery speed filter is applied

To ensure your listings appear in search results, your items will need to offer 1-3 day delivery.

To achieve this, the combination of your handling time and delivery service must equal up to 3 working days. For example if your handling time is 1 day, choose a delivery service that delivers in 1-2 days. Updating your handling time or delivery service can be made directly via your postage business policies within the Seller Hub

  1. Ebay shipping has been a problem for years, in that EBAY themselves manipulate the EDD (Estimated Delivery Date).
Recently I phoned ebay as a customer had said their item had not arrived in the USA from the UK.
The EDD that ebay was showing was way shorted than I had entered.
We use policies and I looked in to them to double check.
We always overestimate a good amount for international orders to cope with customs and delays etc.
It showed that the policy was correct and with my overinflated handling time etc, the latest delivery should have been a month after dispatch yet the customer was complaining after 10 days.

When I quizzed the Ebay agent about this she told me that they use past shipping / delivery to ascertain a more realistic EDD.
I remarked that what was the point of me using the policies if you are going to show the customer something completely different! She skirted the point and said that usually if the packet hadn’t moved in 10 days then we would claim from the courier.
I told that agent that even Amazon allows you to turn on and off the Shipping Settings Automation (SSA).

They just don’t have a clue, but there you go.

  2. I have a similar problem.
I normally post next day but have my handling time set at 3 days.
If I sell something Monday Ebay quote delivery as Wednesday/Thursday but customer can pay extra for next day delivery which they quote as the Friday!!
