eBay.com final value fees increase 0.35%

eBay UK Buyer Fees insights from Q3 Investor Call Final Value Fees

In the January 2025 seller update, eBay,com announced that they would be adjusting final value fees in most categories starting on the 14th of February 2025, with increases ranging up to a maximum of 0.35%.

eBay said “To support our ongoing investments in enhanced tools and expanded protections to help your business thrive, we’re adjusting our selling fees”. They added that “We remain committed to offering competitive fees that reflect the value you receive from selling on eBay“.

We can’t but help draw a comparison between a 0.35% fee rise on eBay.com with the introduction of a ‘Regulatory operating fee’ (coincidentally also 0.35%) which came into effect in the UK, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland on the 8th of April 2024.

The only difference as far as we can see is that on eBay.com the 0.35% has been presented as a simple final value fee adjustment, whereas in the European countries it was presented as an additional fee. Notably, on eBay.com this has enabled eBay to exclude certain categories from the fee rise. You can check out the full impact of the fee changes here.

Final Value Fees are assessed on the item price, postage, taxes and any other applicable fees, so this rise will impact more than the fee on the basic sale price.
