eBay Simple Delivery & Payment updates for Private Sellers

eBay Simple Delivery pricing change for Private Sellers

eBay Buyer Protection has been rolled out across eBay UK and is now live on all listings to give buyers more confidence and security when shopping. All buyers and sellers are now able to get 24/7 customer support, to connect with a real person by phone whenever you need, or start a chat to get quick answers.

As part of Buyer Protection, UK-based private sellers are now paid after item delivery, with funds typically available in your eBay balance 2 calendar days after delivery confirmation. Pending funds can also be used to buy postage labels and refund buyers so you won’t be out of pocket when you’ve fulfilled your order.

Faster Payments

eBay have heard your feedback and have expanded the scenarios where funds will be released after positive buyer feedback is received. When you’re selling a single item for £25 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer. This will apply on both tracked and untracked orders (with the exception of Authenticity Guarantee, Global Shipping Programme, and local collection orders). This change will be live mid-March.

Applying this it untracked orders is the really big change and reflects the number of items sent with economy post where eBay can’t see when the item is delivered.

Simple Delivery Carrier Choice

eBay have added the ability to control what carriers you send your items with. Simple Delivery currently uses two carriers: Royal Mail and EVRi. By default, you’ll be automatically opted in to use both carriers. However, if you have a specific preference because the drop-off location is too far from where you live, you can easily adjust your settings in your postage preferences.

Starting this month, eBay also introducing the option for private sellers to fund Simple Delivery labels, should you want to offer your buyers free shipping. As Simple Delivery evolves, eBay say that they will continue to add even more features to further simplify the shipping process for private sellers and buyers alike.

Don’t worry about Trump Tariffs

eBay say that with their Global Shipping Programme there is no need to worry about the tariffs that have caused some uncertainty when selling overseas. The Global Shipping Programme makes international sales as straightforward as domestic ones. Simply send your item to eBay’s UK Shipping Centre, and they will handle customs, tracking and the calculation of duties and taxes. You’re also fully protected as soon as eBay receive your item. All it requires is for you to opt-in!
